Watch Dog is a macOS time-tracking app for video editors, made by Chloe Keleny. This policy explains what information this website and app handle, and how. It's written to be readable — if anything is unclear, email chloekeleny@gmail.com.

The short version: The Watch Dog app runs entirely on your own Mac and never sends your tracked data anywhere. The only personal information collected is the email address you choose to give us on this website, which is used solely to send your download and product updates. We don't sell your data.

1. The app: your tracked data stays on your Mac

Everything Watch Dog tracks — your sessions, project names, client names, billing rates, notes, and invoices — is stored in a database on your own computer. It is never sent to a server, synced to the cloud, or shared with us or anyone else. There is no account, no login, no analytics, and no telemetry in the app.

The only outbound request the app makes is an optional lookup of public currency exchange rates (via frankfurter.app) if you use multi-currency billing. That request contains no personal information.

2. This website: the email you give us

When you enter your email address in a sign-up form on this site, we collect:

Your email address;
Basic technical submission data (e.g. the time of submission and which form you used), used to prevent spam and manage the list.

We use this only to:

Send you the Watch Dog download link and access code;
Send occasional updates about the beta and product.

We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your email address.

3. Who processes this data

To run this website and send email, we use a small number of trusted service providers, who process data on our behalf:

Netlify — hosts this website and receives form submissions.
Loops — stores our email list and sends our emails.

These providers only process your data to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security terms.

4. Cookies

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It may use minimal local storage in your browser for basic functionality (for example, to remember that a pop-up has already been shown, or that you've unlocked the beta guide). This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

5. Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, and you can ask us to delete your email address from our list. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or erase your personal data. To exercise any of these, email chloekeleny@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

6. Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you're on the list. If you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, we delete it.

7. Children

Watch Dog is intended for professional and adult users and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated by email where appropriate.
